The 18th edition of the SIMFEST International Film and Television Festival opens its doors on Monday, September 13th. During a week, in the Medieval Fortress of Tîrgu Mureș and at the ARTA Cinema, over 50 audio-visual productions from all fields can be watched, from feature films to animated films and from fiction short films or documentary films to videos.

The official opening will take place on Monday, at 11.00, in the Medieval Citadel, during a press conference which will be attended by most of the members of the jury.

The pre-selection jury had to choose from 410 productions, sent from 56 countries. 118 productions from 40 countries remained in the official selection. All continents are represented in the final competition.

For the first time, at SIMFEST will be awarded a Special Prize for the best production in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Also for the first time, the Romanian film will be very present in the program, by organizing the “Romanian Film Week”, with screenings every night, from Monday, September 13 to Friday, September 17, from 21.00, at Cinema ARTA. The projections are logistically and financially supported by UPFAR-ARGOA and DACIN-SARA. The festival program can be consulted on www.simfest.ro and on the Simfest Romania Facebook page.

A large part of the qualified productions in the Official Selection will also be broadcast daily on the festival’s Facebook page. Each movie will be kept on the page for 24 hours.

The organization of the 18th edition of the SIMFEST International Film and Television Festival is also possible due to the co-financing of Tîrgu Mureș Municipality and Sîngeorgiu de Mureș City Hall.
