SIMFEST International Festival faces the pandemic and goes further. The 18th edition will take place at TIrgu MureS, between the 13th and 19th of September, under a new title: The International Film and Television Festival SIMFEST. It maintains, in the competition, the initial specifics, still paying special attention to television production, but also opens up to the world of cinema. By adding a new section for animation film, the SIMFEST competition covers practically all genres of audiovisual and multimedia creation. This gives it, furthermore, a status of uniqueness among other festivals in the world.

These are just two of the novelties that the 2021 edition, brings. The competition rules have, in turn, many new stipulations. They can be consulted on the official website www.simfest.ro.

The previous edition, which was forced by the pandemic to take place exclusively online, meant for the organizers an experience as unique as it was valuable. Its success, which exceeded all expectations, determines the SIMFEST team to keep this way of conducting, in parallel with the traditional one, to which we hope to return in September, with the physical participation of competitors, guests and the public.A large part of the scheduled events will be broadcast live, via streaming, on the Internet. There will also be online screenings of the productions selected for the final. Last year, were registered over 67,000 accesses of the Simfest Romania Facebook page and over 100,000 minutes of viewing the productions. The SIMFEST – 2020 awards went to 4 continents: Europe, Asia, America and Australia.

You can find the list of events in the festival PROGRAM, on our website. SIMFEST remains, as it has always set out to be, beyond competition and prizes, a cultural complex. The team aims to maintain its status won last year, when it received 14 international cataloging at the level of 5 stars out of 5 possible.

Registrations began on January 16th Deadline: May 31th, 2021.
