Mission
Statement

SIMFEST is a TV festival – competition, the only one of this kind in Romania and one of the few in Europe. It is organised every year, at the end of August, by “SIMFEST Cultural Association”, which supports and promotes the creators in visual arts. SIMFEST stands for professionalism and for the freedom of expression of the journalists and the media producers. The festival promotes, at the same time, local journalism and community mass-media.

• Film event, public projection at the Mariaffi Castle in Sîngeorgiu de Mureș

• Summer school, masterclass presented by the film director Copel Moscu: “Directing a documentary film” (in the morning)

• Summer school, masterclass presented by Charles Fletcher, MBE (Scotland): “Television news- a parallel between the american, anglo- saxon and east- european styles (in the morning)

• Public projection of the productions from the competition, debates (in the afternoon)

• European routes for the moviegoers: presentation of some television and/or film festivals from the country and abroad, presented by their representatives (in the afternoon)

• Film event: Copel Moscu presentation; public projection of the documentary film “Naive Paradise”, 2018 (in the evening)

• Romanian Language Day Celebration: presentation of some romanian TV programs in other countries; book launches published by romaniand from abroad; symposium “Romanian language, romanians and Romania, from Sarmizegetusa Regia to Bucharest”; flash- mobs and poetry recitals; book fair in the Medieval fortress, etc.

• Gala of Laureates SIMFEST 2019 (in the evening)
